Ask Claude and ChatGPT about your recordings
Transcription has an MCP server, the open standard AI assistants use to connect to apps. Once connected, Claude or ChatGPT can search all your transcripts, quote them with timestamps, summarize meetings and even transcribe new files for you.

Claude (web, desktop and iPhone)
- In Claude open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Paste
https://transcription.today/mcpand press Connect. - On your iPhone or Mac open Transcription → Settings → AI assistants → Get connection code.
- Enter the code in the browser window Claude opened. Done.
Connectors added on claude.ai also work in the Claude apps on iPhone and Mac.
ChatGPT
Open Settings → Connectors (developer mode), add a connector with the same URL, and enter the connection code from the app when asked.
Claude Code, Cursor and other agents
In the app open Settings → AI assistants → Create access token, then add the server to your agent. For Claude Code:

On a Mac, without the internet
Turn on Settings → AI assistants → This Mac. While Transcription is open, local agents can use http://127.0.0.1:47322/mcp to read transcripts straight from your Mac.

- “What did we decide about pricing in last Tuesday's meeting? Quote the timestamps.”
- “Summarize all my voice memos from this week into a to-do list.”
- “Find every place the interviewee talks about remote work.”
- “Transcribe this file: https://… and give me show notes when it's done.”

FAQ
What can the assistant do?
List and search your transcriptions, read them with timestamps or word-level timings, check your transcription balance, start a transcription from a file link and wait for it to finish.
Can it see other people's recordings?
No. An assistant only sees the account that authorized it. Access tokens are stored hashed, and you can disconnect any assistant in Settings → AI assistants → Connected.
What if I run out of transcription time?
The assistant gets a link that opens the purchase screen in the app. The file is kept and transcription starts automatically right after you top up.
